Ten Mitzvot Art Exhibition opens Friday, June 5th 5-9 PM at Old City Jewish Art Center (OCJAC) 119 N. 3rd Street. Meet the Artists Reception is scheduled for Sunday, June 14th from 2-4 PM.
Participating artists include: Ellen Abraham, Netanel Eliezer, Dale Dunoff, Eleanor Esther Feller, Nicole Freyer, Linda Dubin Garfield, Joanne Hoffman, Liliana Life, Diane Litten, The Moldover Family, Yitzchok Moully, Michael Neff, Sharon Ritz, Mordechai Rosenstein, Arthur Sauerhaft, Deborah Schafer, Mark Segal, Alaina Silverman, Ruth Wolf, Susan Yitzhak, and Gail Zelikovsky.
This exhibition includes; acrylics on canvas, calligraphy, colored chalks and paint on paper, 3D prints, decoupage, fine silk art painting, hand knitted copper wire mezuzah with jewels, mosaic tzadakah boxes, oil on canvas, pen and ink illustrations, photographic images, porcelain mezuzahs, sterling silver havdallah spice box all relating to the following mitzvoth (deeds): Lighting Shabbat Candles, Tefillin (an eternal bond), Mezuzah (the message on a Doorpost), Torah, Tzedakah (charity), Holy books, Kashrut (keeping kosher), Love Your Fellow, Education, Observing family purity, and much more.
According to Jewish tradition, "Mitzvah" means "commandment". A mitzvah is one of the 613 Divine instructions to the Jewish people contained in the Torah. The word also means "connection": a deed that connects the person who performs it with G-d. It is a deed of cosmic significance, a deed of infinite value unto itself.

Ten Mitzvot Art Exhibition is dedicated in Blessed Memory of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson known as the “Rebbe” and the 7th leader of the Lubavitch movement. Ten Mitzvot Art Exhibition runs June 5-25th. Gallery hours: Tuesday-Thursday from 1-6 PM excluding religious holidays. All artists welcome to submit images for review for future exhibition in OCJAC.
